Mercer Engineering Research Center (MERC)

Mercer Engineering Research Center, an operating unit of Mercer University, employs more than 180 engineers, scientists, logisticians and support staff collectively possessing a broad range of expertise in scientific and engineering disciplines. The Center provides engineering, scientific investigation, logistics and management support and educational services to a broad range of government and commercial customers. The diversity of expertise of MERC's staff and its integrated product team approach increases efficiency and cost effectiveness while creating a unique environment for research, development, design and analysis. Since its inception in 1987, MERC has exceeded $300 million in contract awards.

MERC also offers internship opportunities for Mercer students who work closely with MERC engineers and scientists in a broad range of areas supplying support in the execution of client contracts. This hands-on experience allows MErcer students to add depth to their education while gaining a better understanding of expertise provided to customers and clients in solving real-world problems.
